Qualifications

Thanks to the Conference Interpreting Programme (2007-2009) I had an opportunity to do the simultaneous and consecutive interpreting in the following subjects and fields:

• - business, law and commerce
• - politics
  
• - economy
• - European Union (DGs and their tasks, structural funds, operational programmes etc.)
• - interpreting of the original speeches of the members of the European Parliament
• - modern technologie
• - ecology, waste management, alternative/renewable sources of energy
• - science and technology
  

I also took a course in professional note-taking for consecutive interpreters. Among other subjects one could find: translation and interpretation strategies, International Organisations (European Union and others) etc. The integral part of the course are also translations (and interpreting) from German into Polish. The students are also obliged to attend Dutch lessons. The programme is training interperters and translators for the European Union institutions.

Experience (chosen)

2008:

- translation (EU report) on pension schemes. The report was prepared on behalf of the EU's Directorate General for Emplyment, Social Affiars and Equal Opportunities
- interpreting (simultaneous) about the European Social Fund, social economy, human capital, EU policy on social exclusion; developing and implelenting European projects; the conference was held at the Regional Job Centre in Poznań; 
- interpreting (consecutive) about the retail real estate market in Poznan, investments and preparations for Euro 2012 in Poznan City Hall for the guests from Erasmus University, Rotterdam;
- medical translation about the treatment of severe sepsis for Fundacja Nadzieja as a part of Understand Sepsis Public Awareness Campaign (voluntary work);
- medical translation about diet in Autism Spectrum Disorder for Stowarzyszenie Pomocy Dzieciom z Ukrytymi Niepełnosprawnościami (voluntary work);
- medical translation about Huntington disease (genetic basis, diagnosis, treatment, pharmaceuticals) for Stowarzyszenie na rzecz osób z chorobą Huntingtona (voluntary work);
- literature translation; fragment of the book by Anna Kahan for Stowarzyszenie Tutaj Teraz (voluntary work).

2007:

- medical translation about severe sepsis for Nadzieja Foundation (voluntary work);
- European project - translation of a document specifying partner tasks for DIOGENES project for Ostrowskie Centrum Wspierania Przedsiębiorczości (voluntary work);
- interperting (via the telephone) and small translation tasks for Szczecin City Hall during The Tall Ships' Races 2007 (voluntary work).

2007-2008:

- ELT (English as a Foreign Language) Teacher in a language school: General English, Business English, Medical English, English for nurses and midwives.
